To
all soccer participants and parents,
Please
read the entire letter and review all documents in order to meet the
required dates! I am sending home all of the needed soccer materials for
the summer camps and fall season. Please review these in detail as there
are several changes from previous seasons.
Soccer
Camps:
We
will again be offering our annual Soccer Camps in Grand County. We will
offer two weeklong camps. The first is the Challenger Soccer Camp – June
23-27 @ Kaibab Park in Granby. See the included flyer. You can
register for the camp at www.challengersports.com. You must register
online for this camp by Friday, May 9th by midnight in order to receive
the free jersey! The second camp will also be the Challenger Soccer Camp –
July 21-25 @ Fraser Valley Sports Complex. See the included flyer.
You can register for the camp at www.challengersports.com.
You must register online for this camp by Friday, June 6th by midnight in
order to receive the free jersey! The camps are open to kids ages 3-14. We
are in need of volunteer families that would be willing to host the camp
coaches during both camps. Please contact Barry Kroneberger (970-531-2872)
if can host a coach. This is an excellent opportunity for you and your
children to interact with foreign coaches. From past sessions it is a
great experience!
Volunteers:
I
will now plead and will do so again at the end of this letter for your
assistance. We are in need of many volunteers to make the soccer season
both fun and successful for our children. We need coaches, assistant
coaches, referees and commissioners. As with last year, we will require
every team to nominate and send for training parents to referee the 5-6
and 7-8 yr olds games and to be line judges for the 9-10 and 11-13 yr old
games. But beyond this, we are in need of certified referees and line
judges for the center referee position at the 9-10 and 11-13 yr old games.
We have the ability to train for these positions within the organization
this season. Also, we are in need of several volunteers to act as age
group commissioners to assist with registration, roster building, coach
soliciting, and schedule development,. We would like to have one or two
parents for each of the age divisions (5-6, 7-8, 9-10 and 11-13) to take
the lead in this organizations process. And finally, we need coaches and
assistant coaches. You need not have any precious experience coaching
soccer or even know the game of soccer. We are out to make the game fun
for our children and any parent can make that happen. I guarantee you get
back as much or more than you give!
Note:
To further emphasize the importance of volunteers, we will not form any
teams in a specific age group until we have enough coaches to cover the
number of registered players!

Conduct
and Participation:
I
wish to remind everyone of the importance of each player’s participation
and behavior. Please provide respect to all the volunteers who make soccer
available in Grand County, this especially includes coaches, referees, and
linesman. It is also important to respect the other players on the
opposing team as well as your teammates. This respect can be shown in many
ways. Participation is critical to a fun and successful soccer season.
Coaches are not there to babysit, they are there to teach and
direct.

I
will now again plead for you to volunteer for your children and for IMYSA
in order to have the most fun and successful season possible. If you have
any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to call or email me at:
